The Spin

Pro-Trump narrative

This war is a total waste of humanity, and the Trump administration is not happy with the direction it's moving. That's why additional sanctions are being considered, and if the U.S. can work with the E.U. on this, it will bring Russia's economy to a standstill, and this will give Putin no choice but to seriously engage in peace talks.

Anti-Trump narrative

Trump has repeatedly issued deadlines for Russia to end the war — all of which they have ignored as they continue to string out the process. The reality is that Trump will never truly stand up to Putin. If this war is ever going to come to an end, it will be up to Congress to do so by pushing through a strong enough package of sanctions that will make Russia reconsider its position.
