The Spin

Pro-Trump narrative

Talks between the U.S. and the Ukrainians are ongoing and progressing well. There are some areas where more progress needs to be made, but the countries are getting there.

Pro-Ukraine narrative

Ukraine has concluded a difficult, but productive first round of talks with the U.S. in Florida. Talks are ongoing, but Ukraine thanks the U.S. for strong support and genuine interest in achieving a shared outcome. The meeting was substantive and successful. However, there is still hard work to be done to achieve peace.

Establishment-critical narrative

Ukraine's Zelenskyy has replaced his former top negotiator with Rustem Umerov. Has he gone mad? Does he think we'll forget that Umerov is tied up in the very same corruption scandal as Andriy Yermak. This is make or break for the Ukrainian leader.

Pro-Russia narrative

The Kremlin can confirm that the U.S. Special Envoy's visit with the Russian president will take place on Tuesday afternoon. Prior to that, Putin will hold closed-door preparatory meetings with a range of officials.
