The Spin

Pro-Trump narrative

America finally has an administration willing to defend it from the narco-terrorists, a threat that has killed more Americans than Al-Qaeda. These strikes help to shut down known trafficking routes, preventing the supply of dangerous drugs to America and saving lives. Unlike previous presidents, Trump is not afraid to prioritize American lives over those of foreign drug dealers.

Anti-Trump narrative

These illegal strikes amount to acts of state-sanctioned murder, which stand in clear violation of international law. Instead of the military, which Trump is using without congressional approval, the Coast Guard should be left to handle drug interdiction. These reckless actions damage relations with vital South American allies and set a dangerous precedent for extrajudicial killings.
