The Spin

Pro-government narrative

Voepass leadership knowingly sent a plane into deadly conditions despite repeated de-icing system failures on three prior flights that same day — that's not an accident, that's recklessness. Deliberate omissions from aircraft logbooks and organizational failures compounded the danger, killing all 62 people aboard. Prosecutors must charge everyone responsible, from the owner on down.

Government-critical narrative

The Voepass crash wasn't just a corporate failure — Brazil's own aviation agency deserves scrutiny for letting a plane with known mechanical problems get cleared for flight. Accountability can't stop at the airline when a regulatory agency may have looked the other way. With deep cuts ahead for Brazil's aviation regulator, one must question the integrity of that organization's metrics and standards.
