Version 7.18.2
Alberta's clout grows by winning real control over immigration and constitutional protections, not by walking away from the national table. Anger at Ottawa is justified, yet the government that fueled that anger is gone and steady pressure is already delivering results. It's imperative to vote "Yes" to the Nine and Option 1 to strengthen Alberta within Canada. Separation would trade hard-earned leverage for chaos.
Decades of polite asks have changed nothing, so keeping the independence option alive by voting Option 2 is the only leverage that actually moves Ottawa. Energy projects suddenly move forward only because the threat of leaving is real. A ballot that preserves the right to decide later is democracy at work. Either way, Alberta shouldn't have to go down with Canada's sinking ship.
Alberta deserves better than Danielle Smith turning legitimate frustration with Ottawa into a dangerous separatist gamble. Vote to stay in Canada and reject the nine other questions. A vote for a future independence referendum risks years of economic uncertainty, political division and a fight that could tear the country apart. Separatism may be Smith's legacy, but it doesn’t have to be Alberta's.
