Handing the White House South Lawn and Lincoln Memorial to a for-profit sports promoter is straight-up corruption. Trump bought up to $50,000 in UFC's parent company stock while personally promoting the event, and the UFC is selling $1.5 million VIP packages. That equates to the president using national monuments as a cash machine for himself and his allies. These sacred spaces belong to all Americans, not to Dana White and Crypto.com.
A federal judge already threw out the lawsuit trying to stop UFC Freedom 250, and for good reason — seven government agencies spent nearly a year planning this event, over $60 million was invested, and 200,000 Americans entered a lottery for free tickets. Presidents from both parties have erected temporary structures on the South Lawn for concerts, ice rinks and sports without congressional sign-off. This is a legitimate celebration of America's 250th birthday and the return of the Warrior Ethos.
