By not taking Khan to the Shifa International Hospital, the Pakistani government contemptuously flouted the order issued by the court. A decision by three Supreme Court judges was simply tossed in the bin.

The Pakistan government fully complied with the court order and made the appropriate arrangements for Khan to be transported to a hospital for medical checks. However, as Khan's PTI party had created a security situation outside the Shifa International Hospital, he was instead taken to PIMS.
