The Spin

Anti-Israel narrative

Israeli detention facilities operate as systematic torture camps where Palestinian journalists face coordinated beatings, sexual assault, starvation and medical neglect designed to silence their reporting. The pattern is unmistakable: 58 of 59 released journalists reported abuse, including rape, electroshock and forced stress positions. This isn't misconduct by rogue soldiers but a deliberate strategy to destroy journalists' ability to document what's happening in Gaza and the West Bank.

Pro-Israel narrative

Released detainees return under Hamas control, which can force false testimony as part of a disinformation campaign. The IDF detains only those reasonably suspected of terrorist activity, treats all detainees according to international law, and always provides medical care, adequate food and proper facilities. No concrete complaints of sexual abuse have been filed, and any allegations are thoroughly investigated, with criminal probes opened when warranted.
