Version 7.18.3
Africa finally has a partner in Russia that shows up without colonial baggage or lecturing nations on how to govern. Settling trade in local currencies, sharing technology and training young people offer a better path than centuries of resource extraction for someone else's profit. A world with more than one center of power gives African nations greater freedom to choose their partners and serves everyone outside the old Western club.
Russia's promises of partnership mean little when the payoff is gold and uranium flowing out while Moscow's mercenaries protect rulers instead of civilians. Russian security deals in the Sahel have deepened insurgencies, entrenched juntas and left countries dependent on Moscow. A war economy strained by Western sanctions cannot build lasting industries or fund development, no matter the Kremlin's anti-colonial speeches.
