Version 7.18.3
Dialogue is the bare minimum that Britain should be doing. A state that borrowed a fortune to enrich slave owners, while descendants of the enslaved inherited poverty, crushing debt and empty remembrance, cannot now pretend the ledger is closed. The fight for honest accounting, structured debt relief and material reparations will only continue until what is deserved is delivered.
Apologizing for slavery and encouraging dialogue is simply an attempt rewrite history for the sake of virtue-signaling. Becoming one of the first nations in the world to ban the trade cost British lives and enormous sums of money, while generous aid has been flowing to the Caribbean for decades with little thanks. Local leaders should take responsibility for their own economic failures instead of extorting bailouts through historic guilt-tripping.
