Closer ties, up to and including an unlikely return to full membership, would hand the country billions in growth and real influence over the continent it shares. Clinging to red lines drawn in fear of Nigel Farage only locks in the damage.
Right narrative
Blaming Brexit for today's reality is a convenient excuse for politicians unwilling to use the freedoms independence delivered. Trade deals, smarter regulation and control over borders and budgets are real gains, while the gloomy forecasts rest on liberal establishment models built on guesswork. Reopening the question would tear the country apart again for a bloc that is hardly flourishing itself.
