- Counter-terrorism police arrested a 25-year-old dual U.K.-Iranian national in Westminster, London, on Thursday on suspicion of preparation of terrorist acts under Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006, in connection with the RAF Fairford incident.
- Police said two properties in the same London area were searched. The force initially gave the man's age as 27 and said a second man, 26, had been questioned under caution, then corrected both details.
- This comes after Prime Minister Andy Burnham said Wednesday there were "strong indications" that Iran played a part in the incident, while noting police investigations remain ongoing.

Hostile states hiring local amateurs to hit Western targets is yet another example of Iran's use of proxies to engage in sustained hybrid warfare against the West. A base launching bombers over Iran was openly named as a target, and drone incidents at military sites keep climbing. Tehran should not believe that it will be allowed to get away with such obvious and open aggression.

Pinning this on Tehran is lazy scapegoating that falls apart against the evidence. All of the suspects are British nationals, yet the political class reaches for a foreign villain to dodge harder questions and whip up Iranophobia. Hosting American bombers aimed at Iranian civilians is the real provocation here, not some imagined plot.
