As Ukraine's counteroffensive entered its second week on Monday, Kyiv claimed to have made successful gains in several areas, including Donetsk and Bakhmut.By Saturday, the nation reported to have advanced as much as 1.2 miles in some areas and to have recaptured at least seven settlements, but Ukrainian authorities said its operation would need weapons with a range of up to 124 miles -a sentiment that echoed the US-led Ukraine Defense Contact Group, which urged leaders on Thursday to "dig deep" to provide munitions to Kyiv.Meanwhile, Ukraine's claims were disputed by Russian Pres. Vladimir Putin, who said that the counteroffensive is failing,as at least six people were killed during Russian missile attacks on Tuesday,with further attacks reported in Kyiv on Friday amid the arrival of an African peacekeeping delegation.
