Russia-Ukraine

On Monday, US Pres. Joe Biden warned that the threat of Russian Pres. Vladimir Putin using nuclear weapons is "real."This came as the US Dept. of Defense announced on Tuesday that it had overestimated the amount of aid given to Ukraine by $6.2B, meaning there's room for future arms deliveries.On Wednesday, UK PM Rishi Sunak hosted the second Ukraine Recovery Conference, vowing to explore using frozen Russian assets for Ukraine's reconstruction.This sentiment was echoed by the EU, which adopted its 11th round of sanctions against Russia on Friday.On the ground, Ukraine allegedly struck two bridges leading to Crimea on Thursday,as Putin accused the mercenary force Wagner PM of "high treason" on Saturday after it staged an "armed mutiny," seizing military sites in Russia and beginning a march towards Moscow. The short-lived "march for justice" ended peacefully following a Belarus-brokered deal.

World Politics

India's Narendra Modi made his first official state visit to the US,where he met with Elon Muskand signed a series of new business deals with Washington,the UAE and Qatar restored diplomatic ties,US Sec. of State Antony Blinken met with senior Chinese officials,Biden labeled Chinese Pres. Xi Jinping a "dictator,"and three were convicted of harassing a New Jersey family on behalf of China.Meanwhile, Sierra Leone held presidential elections,Australia's Senate approved a referendum to give the Indigenous community a committee in parliament,the UK's parliament endorsed the Privileges Committee's report that found former PM Boris Johnson lied about lockdown gatherings,and a report alleged that Russia plotted to kill a CIA informant.

US Politics

The House postponed a possible vote to impeach Pres. Joe Biden,Hunter Biden struck a plea deal with the Dept. of Justice (DOJ),two whistleblowers accused the DOJ of slowing the Hunter Biden probe,former Pres. Donald Trump was barred from disclosing evidence in his classified documents case,Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis admitted to receiving a golf simulator from a GOP donor,and House Republicans voted to censure Rep. Adam Schiff.Meanwhile, over 100 state legislators and officials received letters containing suspicious white powder in Kansas,a Jan. 6 Capitol rioter was sentenced to 12 years,and SCOTUS revived Biden's immigration enforcement plan.

A Wyoming judge blocked a ban on abortion pills,a judge rejected Florida's transgender Medicaid restrictions,a court struck down Arkansas' ban on gender reassignment for children,and the Starbucks Workers United union announced plans to strike over alleged bans on pride decorations.Meanwhile, the US' Assessment of Educational Progress said students' math and reading scores are at their lowest in decades, a government study found that Japan's eugenics program sterilized children,and detained Putin critic Alexei Navalny's new trial began.

California's Intel agreed to build two chip plants in Germany,Meta announced plans to end access to news for Canadian users in the wake of a new media law,Alibaba CEO Daniel Zhang stepped down,and Airbus and IndiGo reached a record deal to sell 500 aircraft.Meanwhile, US news chain Gannett sued Google for allegedly holding a monopoly over digital ad exchanges,the US Federal Trade Commission filed a suit against Amazon over its Prime subscriptions,and US Sen.
