DHS's policy to defund terror-linked groups is long overdue. The federal government's repeated funding of organizations tied to Hamas and other terror groups, like the $900,000 to a Gaza charity linked to Hamas and millions to groups collaborating with terrorists, demands stricter oversight. Taxpayer money must not fuel anti-American agendas. Robust vetting and accountability are critical to prevent such misuse.
This policy is anti-American, not the other way around. DHS's defunding of groups critical of Israel stifles free speech and religious freedom, targeting diverse organizations — Muslim, non-Muslim, left and right — for opposing U.S. foreign policy or Israel's treatment of Gaza. It echoes Trump's previous order to withhold natural disaster funds from those who boycott Israel — a dangerous political litmus test that undermines constitutional rights.
