The Spin

Right narrative

It's no surprise that street celebrations in France have descended into chaos, quite the contrary, as the country, especially its capital, becomes a playground for thugs with every popular festival. Authorities are familiar with the specific kind of people behind such incidents, but the state of impotence persists, as their actions do not match their harsh words.

Left narrative

While PSG supporters celebrated peacefully across France, some isolated acts marred what should have been a moment of joy — and that is mostly due to the police's disastrous crowd control methods. Security forces should have known that firing tear gas into the crowd on Champs-Élysées to stop a minority of troublemakers would only create more chaos.
