Carlson Claims US Nuclear Strike on Iran Is Days Away
Is this unverified fearmongering or a warning that breaking the nuclear taboo would endanger millions?

- Conservative commentator Tucker Carlson claimed in a lengthy X post late Sunday that the Trump administration could be days away from a nuclear strike on Iran's Pickaxe Mountain, where Israeli intelligence alleges Tehran has resumed uranium enrichment.
- President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reportedly spoke by phone Saturday about Iran talks and how quickly to return to combat, Axios reported. An Israeli source called it "tough" and a U.S. source "direct." Trump called it a "very good talk."
- Trump ruled out using nuclear weapons against Iran in an Oct. 16 Newsmax interview, saying, "I wouldn't use nuclear. We don't have to." At an Iowa rally Sunday, he said that at some point the United States would have to give Tehran "the hammer."

Pro-establishment narrative
A viral social media thread with no verifiable evidence is a flimsy basis for claiming the world is days away from nuclear war. The nuclear option has already been ruled out on the record, and keeping conventional options on the table is exactly how Tehran gets pushed toward a real deal. Panic-peddling only muddies that.
Establishment-critical narrative
Washington's foreign policy shouldn't be set by a prime minister scrambling to hold a Knesset majority and stay out of a courtroom. Breaking the taboo on nuclear first use would hand Moscow, Pyongyang and every other nuclear power a permission slip, and fallout would poison water for 100 million people in the Gulf. Another illegal war is unaffordable.
