Version 7.18.3
A tribunal packed and shielded by one party works as a rubber stamp, not an independent court. Allowing a chief judge to lock lawfully elected colleagues out of the bench would hand a permanent veto to the very people who broke the institution. Cleaning that up was always going to be messy, but leaving it alone would make the damage permanent.
Sending police into the highest court to install a favored judge is tyrannical behavior, no matter how Tusk tries to spin it. Courts exist to tell governments no, and settling that argument with officers and barricades abandons any claim to defending the law. Seizing a court by force sets a dangerous precedent for every future ruler.
