The Spin

Pro-government narrative

Brazil's de facto dictator Alexandre Moraes has threatened American freedoms and democratic values with an oppressive campaign of censorship that extends well beyond Brazilian borders to target U.S. citizens and companies, on top of his sham prosecution of Jair Bolsonaro. Given the tyrannical nature of his actions, he has rightly been sanctioned under the Global Magnitsky Act.

Glenn GreenwaldThe Gateway Pundit

Government-critical narrative

It's outrageous that the Trump administration has used the Global Magnitsky Act to further escalate its imperialist blackmail campaign against Brazilian Justice Alexandre de Moraes. This legislation was passed to end impunity against gross human rights offenders and kleptocrats, not target a foreign top court judge who has done nothing but to resist the pressure of antidemocratic forces.
